New Bush Video "Let's Bomb Iran"

One of the 18000 trillion reasons I love living in the USA. We can make videos like this and not be hung or shot. We can lampoon anyone we damn well please. This is a funny one.

Tea for the Tillerman - Wild World

Tea for the Tillerman was a one of a kind album. Every artist or band has that one special album. This is Cat Stevens special one. Wild World is a classic. It spoke of the times and the times they were crazy back then. They are crazy now, but in a different way, in more of a mean way. Most of the world was embracing life with open arms in the Sixties and Seventies.

Wild World
Cat Stevens

La la la la la...

Now that I've lost everything to you
You say that you want to start something new
And it's breaking my heart, you're leaving
Baby, I'm grieving
If you want to leave, take good care
Hope you find a lot of nice things to wear
Then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

[CHORUS]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by, just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
I'll always remember you
Like a child, girl

You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breaking my heart in two
Cause I never wanna see you sad, girl
Don't be a bad girl
Now if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
Just remember there's a lot, I'd beware

REPEAT CHORUS

La la la la la...

If you want to leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot, I'd beware

REPEAT CHORUS

Oh baby, baby, it's a wild world (x2)

La da da...
Ooooh, mmmm, oh yeah, hey...
La da da...
Doo doo...
Mmmm, oh yeah
La da da...
Doo doo...
Mmmm, doo doo...mmmm

Fell On Black Days

Whatsoever I've feared has
Come to life
Whatsoever I've fought off
Became my life
Just when everyday
Seemed to greet
Me with a smile
Sunspots have faded
And now I'm doing time
Cause I fell on
Black days

Whomsoever I've cured
I've sickened now
Whomsoever I've cradled
I've put you down
I'm a search light soul
They say but I can't
See it in the night
I'm only faking
When I get it right
Cause I fell on
Black days
How would I know
That this could be my fate

So what you wanted to
See good has made you blind
And what you wanted to
Be yours has made it
Mine
So don't you lock up
Something that you
Wanted to see fly
Hands are for shaking
No not tying

I sure don't
Mind a change
But I fell on black
Days
How would I know
That this could be
My fate

Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, SUPERUNKNOWN

Soundgarden split up April 9th, 1997, but I still love them.

SOUNDGARDEN is:

Chris Cornell--vocals/guitar Kim Thayil--lead guitar Matt Cameron--drums/percussion *Ben Shepard--bass/vocals(Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, Down On The Upside) *Hiro Yamamoto--bass(Screaming Life/Fopp, Ultramega OK, Louder Than Love)

CHRIS CORNELL - Poet

"Success is really only a measure of what has happened before," says Chris Cornell, who as singer for Seattle's recently disbanded Soundgarden, reintroduced integrity and reckless passion back into the tired genre of hard rock. Though Soundgarden split in 1997 at the height of their 12-year-career, Cornell continues on in the tradition of breaking boundaries and challenging traditions with his daringly eclectic debut Euphoria Morning.

"I don't think you ever really reach a plateau where you're good enough at your craft to just stop and rest on past achievements. You always have to create something new rather than borrow or lean on what you've done in the past. It's like being a baby. You've just been born and have totally new parameters. The world is wide open."

Nickleback - Photograph

Video and Lyrics - Sing Along (lyrics below video)
I cannot get tired of this song. Sing with me.

PHOTOGRAPH
Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red
And what the hell is on Joey's head

And this is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we'd ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneakin' out

And this is where I went to school
Most of the time I had better things to do
Criminal records says I've broke in twice
I must have done it half a dozen times

I wonder if it's too late
Should I go back and try to graduate
Last man and now that it was back then
If I was them I wouldn't let me in

Oh oh oh oh god I....I

Every memory of looking out the back door
I have a photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Remember the old arcade
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops seeing us hanging out
They said somebody went and burned it down

We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we know
We said someday we'd find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel

Kim's the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She's had a couple of kids since then
I haven't seen her since god knows when

Oh oh oh oh god I...I

Every memory of looking out the back door
I have a photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

I miss that town
I miss the faces
You can't erase it
you can't replace it
I miss it now
I can't believe it
So hard to stay
So hard to leave it

If I could I relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change......

Every memory of looking out the back door
I have a photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
Its hard to say, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye

Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
Everytime I do it makes me......

Poems, Prayers and Promises

This album came out in 1971. That was a great year for music. Dark Side of the Moon came out then too. I was sixteen years old and I stubbed my toe. I got pregnant. My poor Mom cried and cried and I was way more scared than I wanted anyone to know, but it was also one of the best times of my life. My one and only child(daughter) is 32 now and I am 51 with three grandchildren and things have worked out fine. Good times and bad times. I was too young to really grasp the seriousness of Vietnam and the revolution taking place in America. I was just old enough to enjoy the freedom, the music, the camaraderie, the smoke(gave that up while pregers) and the changes taking place. I had met a group of older friends from the University of Arlington in Texas. They were a diverse group and I learned a lot from them, how to party hardy and also much about the world. This John Denver song captures the easy, laid back feelings of the 70's, just as Jefferson Airplane captured the turbulance and anger. JOHN DENVER
POEMS PRAYERS AND PROMISES
March/1971

I've been lately thinking about my life's time
All the things I've done and how it's been
And I can't help believing in my own mind
I know I'm gonna hate to see it end
I've seen a lot of sunshine slept out in the rain
Spent a night or two all on my own
I've known my lady's pleasures had myself some friends
And spent a time or two in my own home

I have to say it now it's been a good life all in all
It's really fine to have a chance to hang around
Lie there by the fire and watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady sit and pass a pipe around
And talk of poems and prayers and promises and things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone how right it is to care
How long it's been since yesterday what about tomorrow
And what about our dreams and all the memories we share

The days they pass so quickly now the nights are seldom long
Time around me whispers when it's cold
The changes somehow frighten me still I have to smile
It turns me on to think of growing old
For though the life's been good to me there's still so much to do
So many things my mind has never known
I'd like to raise a family I'd like to sail away
And dance across the mountains on the moon

I have to say it now
It's been a good life all in all
It's really fine
To have the chance to hang around
And lie there by the fire
And watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady
Sit and watch the sun go down

And talk of poems and prayers and promises
And things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
How long it's been since yesterday
What about tomorrow
What about our dreams
And all the memories we share

Easter Pictures

Easter went well. The kiddos had a good time. The Chocolate bunnies were melting in the hot Texas sun, but we managed to eat them anyways.

Mack liked his Spiderman egg best!

Erin Palace and Dylan hit the jackpot with the Prize Eggs.

Sydni Dawn went for the Chocolate Bunnies.

Madison made out like a bandit with jewlery and a big basket of eggs.

They hunted eggs, played games and flew kites. I ran out of memory and didn't get the kites,,darn it, I really need to get a memory card.

If I Only Had A Brain - George and Dick

If I Only Had A Brain

(George)
I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain

And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain

I'd unravel any riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain

(Dick)
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain

(George)
Oh, I would tell you why
The ocean's near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more

I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain

No insult intended to Mr Ray Bolger. My favorite Scarecrow ever!

Sydni's Video

My grandaughter made this video for me. I wished she had done it in a more lighted area,,,lol She is a beautiful person and as she says "The Prettiest Girl You Know"

I Am Not A Bot!

Wanna Play?

I guess I have been posting too many videos. Blogger wondered if I was a spam blog. Nope, just have a lot going on right now and it has been difficult to write. It is late now and the house is quiet, except for a branch that is hitting the window and sliding around making a fingernails on chalkboard sound. I keep meaning to trim it.

We had another cold spell hit after a very warm week. I say cold, I should say colder. It is around 56 degrees right now. This is Texas. Flowers are popping up here and there. They are sneaking up on me this year. I didn't pre-plan or prepare for spring like I usually do. The weather was so unpredictable, I didn't even trust the Farmers Almanac.

I think I was too ambitious with my Garden planting and I can't keep up with the weeds in so many areas. I am always overwhelmed and say I won't be able to do it, but manage to have pretty gardens in late spring and early summer anyways, but this year,,,,,When July and August hit everyone just says to hell with it.

This year though they are already talking heavy water restrictions. The little rain we had didn't help the drought conditions much at all.

The Facts

the harm you pray against has come
your soul cries out for answers
there are none
face it with strength you must
with breath catching and stomach clenching
you trust
must not think of it too long
overwhelming fear at the facts
please make them be wrong
it is wrong, it is all wrong
