The Facts

the harm you pray against has come
your soul cries out for answers
there are none
face it with strength you must
with breath catching and stomach clenching
you trust
must not think of it too long
overwhelming fear at the facts
please make them be wrong
it is wrong, it is all wrong

This makes me think of my brother in law's illness last year ... A very hard time for my sister and for the whole extended family ... I hope whoever / whatever is alluded to in the poem is not too bad. Life just sucks sometimes doesn't it? All the best.

Thank you. I am sorry about your brother in law. Yes, life can suck worse than we can ever imagine it will. It is one of those things that happens in other families, but until it happens to your own, you can't grasp the helplessness.
I keep telling myself to have faith and I pray alot. It is hard to talk about - it is too scary.. An immediate family member.

I'm sorry. I'll be thinking of you - and praying.
